When beefing up NieR: Automata's 'Virtuous' weapon set, you're likely going to need a good amount of 'Dented Plate'. And with each weapon being upgradable numerous times, materials can start to enter short supply.
Though plenty of these upgradable machine cutters are borderline useless, the Virtuous line of equipment is particularly potent. One of the bigger achievements/trophies of NieR: Automata is locked out unless a player finds the many in-game weapons.
